- Usually ranked games have a placement period. here we don’t need it since it uses existing solo rank to get initial ELO, however it would be nice to explain that to the player.
- Maybe a dialog on initial launch, or a “calculating initial elo” animation (even though it’s already pre calcd). would only show on first launch
- Chat is way better than current chat feel wise. missing a few things to make it even better
- right now, messages fade too quickly. i think minimized chat should keep showing a few messages (that would fade away after a bit one by one)
“enter to chat” should be on a toggle, since it’s annoying to keep pressing enter to type consecutive messages got used to it
- we should have a tree dots/ right click menu to report a message
- The hp system should really be 100% off the table like discussed before a while ago
- including turning off fade to red
- hiding hp bar
- the hp bar could then be replaced by a score delta component like the one shown earlier here
- break could be used better in this mode too, maybe the score delta thing could be shown bigger during break, with each player’s score too
- Ranked play indicator is a good idea, it’s too visible though, i know peppy said it shouldn’t have any transparency, but I’m thinking that making it something like 80% visible might still get the job done
- I was thinking that in addition of user tags on/around cards (which are coming in some form), we could have a map preview system?
- would show a few seconds of the map starting from preview point
- might be ambitious so probably not now, but would definitely be useful in helping users make deliberate map choices
- could also be reused in other areas of the game, for example previews in song select, or in mp rooms, or even in skin selection in settings?
- Needs personal match history and stats
- I can see it’s still tracked on the profile under the quick play tab, so it’s probably gonna come soon on the website
- if it keeps the quick play format it needs work though, like showing showing W/L, elo, etc
